All volunteers must sign-up by 9:00am Friday before, using the new platform. The sign-up genus will let us notify any cancellations to all volunteers that are signed up as well as assist us in allocating staff accordingly to the number of attendees.

Help Preserve the Keith A. Olson Prairie!
Join us in caring for the beautiful Keith A. Olson Prairie! Volunteer days are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in February, March, April, September, October, and November.
What to Expect:
Volunteers will engage in a variety of activities, including:
Woody and invasive species removal
Plant identification
Restoration - seed harvesting & dispersal
Trash collection
Signage clearing
And more!
This is a great way to connect with nature, give back to the community, and help preserve the prairie for future generations.
Requirements:
Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age
All participants must sign-up by 9:00AM Friday before, using Sign-Up Genius https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A054FAEA92AA3FE3-54372615-2025#/
All participants are required to sign the EPD Liability Waiver before joining the workday (found on the sign-up genius page)
All volunteers must sign-in upon arrival
All volunteers should wear long sleeves and long pants
FAQs:
Volunteers are expected to arrange their own water, durable work gloves, bug spray/sunscreen, and weather appropriate clothing
EPD will provide the tools & equipment needed for the workday objectives
Restrooms are seasonally provided April-November at Pioneer Park (4 blocks East of Spring Rd) & Ben Allison Park (8 blocks West of Spring Rd)
Cancellation Policy:
Workdays will be canceled in the event of severe weather and/or low enrollment. Notification of cancellations will be sent via email between 5:00 PM Friday and 7:00 AM Saturday.
Meet Up Location:
We’ll gather at Wild Meadows Trace (496 Spring Road, at the corner of Spring Road and Prairie Path Lane). Meet us in front of the Keith A. Olson Prairie sign on the west side of Spring Road adjacent to the municipal parking lot and Phase 3 Brewing Company.
