How do I study for a quiz or a test in Algebra AB?

Here’s how to use your textbook as a Study Guide:

Where to find the main ideas of an investigation:

    • The opening page describes the main ideas. Even the title helps to set the stage for what the topics will be. Examples of key questions are given, and key skills are described.
    • The Mathematical Reflection page at the end of the Investigation has a summary of the topics at the top, lists of key questions and also vocabulary terms.

Where to find the main ideas of the entire chapter:

    • The Chapter Opener page gives the titles of the Investigations and lists important terms and symbols.
    • The Mid-Chapter Test shows example problems from the first part of the chapter. The Challenge Problem is always beyond the scope of this course.
    • The Review page of each chapter has problems that are organized around descriptions of the main concepts.
    • The sample Test gives example problems for students to practice.

The Algebra AB course is organized closely around our textbook. Each chapter follows this structure. It is helpful that these descriptions and problems are there to see when we start the unit, and at the end as we review for the quiz or test. Plus, they are always easy to find!
