We are Team Alpha Geek!
We are a team of 10 students ready for a challenge! As a FIRST Lego League team, we build and code a robot to compete in a timed game. We also create an innovation project to help solve a problem. We work hard as a team and improve our skills in researching, presenting, and collaborating all while having lots of fun!
Team Alpha Geek wins the Core Values Finalist award at the First® World Championship!
In April, Team Alpha Geek traveled to Houston TX to compete the First® World Championship. While there, they achieved their top score of 425 in the robot game.
Additionally, they won the Core Values Finalist award. This award is given out to the 6th through 2nd place teams in the Core Values category, which encompasses the 6 First® Core Values that winning teams exemplify throughout their season.
They had a lot of fun competing with teams from over 60 countries! It was truly an awesome experience.

TAG's Kelper Helper Ready to Fight Acidification
Team Alpha Geek has developed an amazing new solution that both monitors ocean acidification and restores coral reefs helping scientific and recreational ocean explorers. Our design incorporates kelp to absorb excess carbon and speakers that attract coral larvae. This will allow scientists & divers to continue exploring the amazing coral reef ecosystems.

TAG's Innovative Robot Wows Judges With It's Awesome Gearbox
Team Alpha Geek's amazing robot (TAG), impressed State judges with its amazing gearbox. This gear box splits the back output of the robot's rear attachment motor to the sides of their robot. This allows us to use all four sides of our robot helping us achieve a maximum score of 425 points!
If you wish to learn more about our robot, visit our ROBOT page.
TAG Donates STEAM Kits to Ronald McDonald House
Team Alpha Geek made and donated STEAM kits to Ronald McDonald house. We hosted a STEAM night where we taught kids how to code marble mazes.
If you wish to learn more about the outreach that we've done, go to our OUTREACH page. You can also learn how to make your own STEAM kits at home!
Watch TAG 3.0 in Action!
Check out Team Alpha Geek's robot, TAG 3.0, in action! We created this video showing their current robot run with a max of 405 points.
Our team is continuing to work on our robot and are planning to add another 50 points before the competition and to improve the reliability of some of the missions that are not as consistent as the team wants.
