CORE VALUES
Fun!!!
Our team revolves around having lots of fun!
Some of the ways we had fun are:
Snacks! (Snacks motivate us!)
Warm-up games
Parties!
Designing team jerseys
Inclusion
We are a team of 8 from 3rd to 7th grade, where we take pride in mentoring and helping each other when needed.
We brought in 2 new team members and helped then understand the different parts of FLL
We help and mentor each other based on each of our strengths
Discovery
Some of the things we discovered are:
Some very concerning facts about greenhouse gas emissions
Google Drive is a great place to store and share work with team members
Using code blocks, structural engineering, and skit writing
We learned to iterate our ideas and get feedback from subject matter expert
Innovation
We took up a real life problem and designed a solar energy smart-microgrid with MMS
When designing our robot, we designed a simple attachment (without the use of a motor) and were able to create a very efficient basket to accomplish missions.
Teamwork
We demonstrated teamwork by:
We divided robotics missions among ourselves so that we can complete them faster and start coding
We collaborate every practice day in subgroups to keep focus, and so we can complete work quickly and efficiently
Impact
We are a conscious team, who care about our environment, climate change and well-being of all, hence our community outreach program to stop batteries reaching the landfill
Hence:
We have till now reached out to 100s of families via our fliers, pamphlets, and word of mouth
We also made an announcement in school (via intercom) about batteries
Our battery collection drive
As responsible citizens of this planet, we're doing our part in advocating that batteries be recycled properly and not reach landfills
Our tiny heads are starting to ache....Maybe ChatGPT can help us figure out where this little piece goes ??
Our team never fails to celebrate our successes. Of course, as long as our parents are paying for it ! ;)
Never a dull moment! Any downtime we get, we're either munching down snacks or having fun
