It should be noted
The state of Wisconsin is constantly reviewing and revising standards.
Classes are adjusted to meet the needs of students.
New classes are introduced to our schools regularly.
This site is a living document. The public has access to the essential learning outcomes here and the public will always be able to see the changes that are taking place.
When changes are made to what is being taught in our schools this is the place to see those changes.
ESSENTIAL OUTCOMES ARE:
Essential outcomes represent the essential understandings that students must learn to reach high levels of learning
Essential outcomes identify "have to know" versus "nice to know" which informs planning and instruction
Essential outcomes help us to identify which students did not master specific essential outcomes and need additional support
Essential outcomes support common assessment development
ESSENTIAL OUTCOMES ARE NOT:
Essential outcomes do not represent all that you are going to teach
Essential outcomes do not omit parts of the curriculum
Essential outcomes are not for reporting purposes only -- you can't stick them into a report card as is.
