*Since people tend to draw at different levels and speeds I take work up to a day or two before the end of the six weeks. I will add the missing grades after we move on from each particular assignment. These can still be turned in for credit at any point during the six weeks.
I let you know this for two reasons:
As a parent, you don't get shocked when you check your child's grades and see that they are failing Art of all subjects.
Parents get shocked at first then after the first six weeks realize the process.
I will not be contacting you about each and every missing assignment during the six weeks or if your child is failing because of those assignments. If you would like me to contact you please get with me at the beginning of the year.
This process has worked fine in the past. The key is for your child to make sure that they are working on their work and not just ignoring it.
Rules and Expectations:
Be Kind and Respectful at all times!!!!
Be Prepared and Ready in your seat when the bell rings.
If you are not asked to critique another student’s art then keep it to yourself.
Participation is expected DAILY.
IF IT IS NOT YOURS DO NOT TOUCH IT!!!!
Consequences:
Verbal Warning
Detention/One on One Conference
Parent Contact
Office Referral
*Major Offences will result in immediate dismissal from class to the office.
School Supplies
Pencil (EVERYDAY)
Eraser (EVERYDAY)
Ink Pens
SKETCHBOOK
Around 8"x11" range is good. If your child wants larger then that is fine but I would not recommend smaller.
I would recommend a mixed media type paper sketchbook so that they are able to use it for more than just pencils.
The more pages the better so they don't have to buy multiple throughout the year. This will be used almost daily.
200 PROMPT SKETCHBOOK (Art 1 students only)
Students will use this for their daily sketches/drawings.

You can also check Hobby Lobby for the art kits if you would like to go that route. They usually will include a wide variety of supplies.
Hobby Lobby has different sales each week. They swap what is on sale every other week. If you go and the items are not on sale check back the next week and they should be around 40-50% off.
