About Mrs. Francois
This 2026-2027 school year will be my 17th year of teaching. I took 18 years off to run my own business in the Austin area, but after my husband retired in 2024, we began planning to move to Elkhart to be close to family. I am excited to begin teaching again, especially in such a terrific school district.
I received my teacher certification in 1997, and I'm certified in 8 subject areas, including English although I have mostly taught Spanish & Latin. 11 years of my teaching career was spent at the high school level and includes Pre-AP and AP classes. I taught for four years at the middle school level as well, and while I was in college, I worked as writing and English tutor in the AARC at Stephen F. Austin.
My goal for my students is to challenge them yet inspire them to love reading and learning as much as I love reading and learning.
