All approved volunteers must have a completed background check on file to ensure the safety of EH Families, staff, and all those who partner with us. If you have completed a background check through another system within the last three months, you are welcome to submit this proof for review instead.

Reminder: The fee for the background check is $11.50.
No proof of submission to FirstChoice background check is needed. EH Staff is notified when new background check applications are received and can view pending and processed checks.
If you are experiencing any technical difficulties while filling out the application, please contact FirstChoice Background Screening. The FirstChoice Client Relations Team will contact you if additional information or verification is required to process your application. Once your background check has been processed by FirstChoice, the EH Administrative Coordinator may reach out with further questions regarding the status of your background check. The EH Administrative Coordinator will review your background check, training course, and all required volunteer documents before emailing final approval to attend an orientation and begin volunteering. The Elizabeth House Maternity Home reserves the right to deny any prospective volunteer based on the status of their background check.
