MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Happy December, EIS Families! It has been an amazing first semester and we can't believe it's coming to an end! Although the month is short, we have several events occurring to finish out our semester!

As we round out the year, I wanted to remind everyone of a few protocols that are in place at EIS in order to maximize student safety.

• Our campus opens at 7:45 to all students. Please do not drop off your student before this time as there will be no supervision for them until doors open. As the winter months set in and temperatures begin to dip, this is an increased concern to not have students waiting outside for doors to open. Our morning ACE begins at 7:00 AM and students enrolled are able to enter the building. Please consider enrolling in ACE if the 7:45 drop off is too late.

• Students are not allowed to have cell phones out and in use while on the EIS campus. This includes dismissal. The expectation is that students keep their devices turned off and stored in their backpacks. Please communicate and decide on a transportation pick-up method with your student before the school day (car rider, bus rider, walker, ACE). Students will not be allowed to call or text at the end of the day to determine how they are getting home. If transportation changes, please call our office at 512-281-9701 so that we can notify your student of any potential change.

• Moving forward, EIS will not allow for any student sign-outs after 3:15. Our front office parking lot is used for bus loading for some students, and buses begin to arrive as early as 3:15. If you child has an appointment in the afternoon, please pick them up before 3:15.

• With the colder temperatures setting in, we have seen an increase in blankets brought to school by students. Blankets will not be allowed on campus during the school day, including dismissal. Blankets have become a distraction to the learning environment and are used inappropriately by students. Please leave blankets at home. If your student is in need of winter clothing, please contact our counselors or Communities in School for support - we are here to help!

¡Feliz diciembre, familias de EIS! ¡Ha sido un primer semestre increíble y no podemos creer que esté llegando a su fin! ¡Aunque el mes es corto, tenemos varios eventos para terminar nuestro semestre!

A medida que finalizamos el año, quería recordarles a todos algunos protocolos que existen en EIS para maximizar la seguridad de los estudiantes.

• Nuestro campus abre a las 7:45 para todos los estudiantes. Por favor, no deje a su estudiante antes de esta hora ya que no habrá supervisión para ellos hasta que se abran las puertas. • Los estudiantes no pueden tener teléfonos celulares fuera y en uso mientras se encuentran en el campus de EIS. Esto incluye el despido. La expectativa es que los estudiantes mantengan sus dispositivos apagados y guardados en sus mochilas. Comuníquese y decida un método de transporte para recogerlo con su estudiante antes del día escolar (automóvil, autobús, caminante, ACE). No se permitirá que los estudiantes llamen o envíen mensajes de texto al final del día para determinar cómo van a llegar a casa. Si cambia el transporte, llame a nuestra oficina al 512-281-9701 para que podamos notificar a su estudiante sobre cualquier posible cambio.

• Adelante, EIS no permitirá que ningún estudiante se retire después de las 3:15. El estacionamiento de nuestra oficina principal se usa para cargar autobuses para algunos estudiantes, y los autobuses comienzan a llegar a las 3:15. Si su hijo tiene una cita por la tarde, recójalo antes de las 3:15.

• Con la llegada de las temperaturas más frías, hemos visto un aumento en las mantas que los estudiantes traen a la escuela. No se permitirán mantas en el campus durante el día escolar, incluida la salida. Las mantas se han convertido en una distracción para el entorno de aprendizaje y los estudiantes las usan de manera inapropiada. Por favor, deje las mantas en casa. Si su estudiante necesita ropa de invierno, comuníquese con nuestros consejeros o Communities in School para obtener ayuda. ¡Estamos aquí para ayudarlo!

EIS BAND - CHRISTMAS CONCERT 12/14

You are invited to attend the FIRST EVER Christmas Concert performed by the Elgin Intermediate Beginner Band! The concert will be held on

Wednesday, December 14th @ 6:00 PM
Elgin Intermediate Gym (parking in back by the Elgin Water Tower)

The concert is free to the public, so feel free to spread the word! Please be advised that seating in the gym is limited.

All EIS Beginner Band students need to report at 5:15 for the concert on Wednesday, 12/14. Students should dress in their "Sunday best". Clothes must be school appropriate. Please no holes in pants and no T-shirts.

¡Estás invitado a asistir al PRIMER Concierto de Navidad realizado por la Banda Intermedia para Principiantes de Elgin! El concierto se llevará a cabo el

Miércoles, 14 de diciembre a las 6:00 p. m.
Gimnasio intermedio de Elgin (estacionamiento en la parte trasera junto a la torre de agua de Elgin)

El concierto es gratuito para el público, ¡así que siéntete libre de correr la voz! Tenga en cuenta que los asientos en el gimnasio son limitados.

Todos los estudiantes de banda para principiantes de EIS deben presentarse a las 5:15 para el concierto del miércoles 14 de diciembre. Los estudiantes deben vestirse con su "mejor ropa de domingo". La ropa debe ser apropiada para la escuela. Por favor, nada de agujeros en los pantalones ni en las camisetas.
