About Me

Hello, my name is Mrs. Lu Anne Vides. This will be my fifteenth year teaching, and all of it was at EMS! This year I'll be teaching 7th Grade Math in room 707. I'm looking forward to an exciting year!!

Education:

  • El Dorado High School - graduate 1979
  • Butler County Community College AA degree 1981
  • Attended Bethany College 2 years working on a Music Education Degree
  • Wichita State University BA degree 2004
  • Vernon's School of Cosmetology; Certified 1987

Experience:

  • Title one (7th and 8th grade math) - two years
  • 7th grade math - 8 years (with science for 2 years)
  • 6th grade math - 2 years (with science for 2 years)
  • 8th grade math- 2 years
  • Again in 7th grade math!

Other Duties at EMS:

  • Former boys tennis coach
  • Current girls' Tennis Coach
  • PBIS Committee Chair
  • District PBIS Committee

State Positions:

  • Kansas TASN certified CHAMPS trainer.
  • Facilitator of "9 Essentials of a Love and Logic Classroom"

How I like to spend my free time (if there is any....) I enjoy singing, going to movies, participating in small Bible group meetings, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family! I serve on the Board of the Butler County Safe House and I am a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an altruistic sorority for women in education.

We have a farm with cows and sheep, we cut hay every summer.

I'm married, have two awesome kids and one very scruffy little dog.
