About Me

Hello, my name is Kristeen Thompson. I am so excited to work with your student this year. Since I will be spending so much time with your child, I want to let you know a little more about me. I started earning my education degree from Hutchinson Community College. From there, I attended Bethel College where I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2005. I am now working on earning my Masters degree in School Counseling from Emporia State University.

I taught for seven years in Andover where I taught both fourth and fifth grade. I was a part of the building leadership team and helped organize a brand new school building opening. I took two years off at that point to do voluntary service in New York, working with local farmers to connect them to areas in the city that were food deserts (residents had little access to grocery stores) around Rochester, New York. Through my work I was able to help individuals in those areas get more fresh food than they could previously.

When I returned to Kansas I became a teacher here at El Dorado. I have taught fourth grade for the past 3 years. I am teaching all subjects but science this year. Each student will get to rotate to each classroom so they will get a chance to work with all teachers in forth grade.

I hope to work closely with you to make sure that your student has a wonderful year! In order to accomplish that make sure to sign up and check class dojo. I will check it throughout the day. Usually, I am available through dojo from 7:30am until about 6:00pm and I will get back to you as soon as possible. You may also reach me through email at kjthompson@eldoradoschools.org or by calling the school at 316-322-4860.
