Weekly Newsletter - May 12, 2024

Sent 5/12/2024, 4:50 PM.

What a great week for band!  I want to thank the students and directors for their hard work in putting together a great set of spring concerts to close out our year and then capping the week off with a great band banquet.  It is always one of my favorite band events, a look back at all the hard work these students have put in and an opportunity to thank them and everyone that worked to put together the band year that is coming to a close.  A special thanks to the DeAngelos and all the parents that worked so hard to bring this event together, and to those that helped setup and tear down - it was a smashing success and a great time.  I truly feel blessed to be a part of such a great community!

To all the students - I know the end of the year is drawing near, especially for seniors...  Keep working hard - finish strong through your finals.

What's in this newsletter?

Here's what I have for you all this week:

This week in band...

Tuesday 5/14

Now on to the details...

Uniforms Note

If you have ANY uniforms, or parts of uniforms, still in your possession, it is time to get those turned in.  Please bring in any remaining uniforms or uniform parts to the band room this week.  The uniform chairs will be checking in during the week to see what has been turned in.  Please do your best to get EVERYTHING turned in this week.  Thanks!

Calendar

If you have not yet subscribed to our band calendar, you should do so soon.  The directors and boosters are in the process of planning next year's calendar, and will be adding important events and dates to it very soon (band camp/summer event dates are already added).  You can do so by doing the following:
1. Go to the Calendar page of the website (https://www.eldorado.band/Calendar)
2. In the lower-right corner of the embedded calender is a little blue plus sign - click on the plus sign
3. The Eldorado Band calendar will now be joined to your own Google calendar

Have a great week!

Go Eagles!

AND a word from Mr. Sayre...

Greetings Eagle Band Community,

Congrats on an amazing banquet.  We are really excited to have such a wonderful group of students that achieve so much.  Now we truly transition to getting ready for next year with a few upcoming events.  WE WILL HAVE ZERO HOUR EVERY DAY THIS WEEK.

8th Grade night is on Tuesday May 14 at 6pm - This is for all new members of the band for the upcoming year.  Student leaders, officers, and prospective student leaders should also attend.  We will discuss details about your role at lunch on Tuesday. If you have friends interested in color guard they should attend the event as well!

Drum major auditions are on zero hour on Tuesday - Students will conduct the Star Spangled banner.  Bring your marching band instrument.

Middle School Concerts - We highly encourage you to attend middle school concerts for our associated middle schools and wear your Eldorado gear.  Jackson MS is on Wednesday evening and Eisenhower MS is on Thursday evening.

Graduation is on the afternoon/evening of Wednesday May 22 - We will load buses, head over to Tingley, set up and play as much as we can.  I should have more details soon.  Dress for the performance is "wear something nice"

After that we learn the final for band, clean up the band room, and start on next fall's music.

GO EAGLES!
