Meet Mrs. M
When I was in high school, I wanted to be an actress when I grew up. I wanted to sing and dance and act my way through Broadway in New York City. I wanted to be famous. I wanted people to ask for my autograph. I wanted to live in a one room apartment on 42nd Street where all the Broadway action was.
I chose Bloomsburg University as my educational pathway to this stardom. However, after a year and a half, I found a different path. I found my husband, got married, and 3 years later had my two children. My life's dreams changed. Looking at my two children, I realized I wanted to be a teacher.
I went back to school and got my associates in Early Childhood at Lakeland College in Ohio. All my theatrical training enhanced my teaching skills. Then, I went on to Millersville University to get my bachelors in Elementary and Early Childhood Education in Pennsylvania. Then, I went on to Cabrini College in Reading, Pennsylvania to get my Masters in Education. Then I completed my second Masters through Wilson College this past spring. As you can see, I did not take a straight path to my chosen career. But I would not have traded it for the world…because my educational pathway led me singing and dancing to my students!
