FAQs

Do I need to pay anything to register or participate in the WEP?

No, you do not need to pay anything to participate in the WEP. A few partners may request you to pay for the gloves and mask they provide you on their campus as part of Covid-19 protocols, if you do not carry yours.

This is purely an opportunity for you to enhance your skills. You just need to apply online (refer to the Opportunities tab of this site) and you will get placed according to the available open positions.

Can I apply to more than one company?

Yes! You can apply in up to 3 Companies. As students will be competing for the same positions, you can raise your chances of getting into the WEP if you apply to multiple companies.

What will be the criteria for selection?

The selection process is two fold.

Step 1: Application screening - Based on the quality of responses provided on the application form, students will be shortlisted for the WEP.

Step 2: Company screening - Resumes of shortlisted candidates along with their completed application form will be sent to companies for final selection. Any organization willing to meet/conduct interview with students will do so as per their policy.

Can I work with more than one organization?

No. While you can apply to upto 3 companies, you will finally be offered a position at only one organization, where you will work for the summer.

Can I do the WEP for longer/shorter than the given duration?

In all instances, you will need to do the WEP for the time period stated in the Opportunities Page. The actual dates will be worked out jointly between you and the employer. In extenuating circumstances, the WEP period can be altered/customized to suit the student. You will need to present your case for that.

Can I continue to work for the same organization even after the WEP is over?

Yes, absolutely. That can be decided between you and your employer.

Will I have someone guiding me during the WEP?

Yes. All internships are structured in a way where students will be reporting to a designated person in the organization. Mentorship and guidance will be provided as required for the duration of the Internship.

What if I face any difficulties during the WEP?

If you face any difficulty during your Internship, send an email to wep@ekyaschools.com. We will do our best to resolve any issues for you.

Will I get paid?

No. The WEP is unpaid in most cases. Organizations are lending valuable time and effort towards grooming students for no tangible profit. Some organizations may choose to support a student with her/his expenses such as travel cost, partial reimbursement of telephone bills or stipend in some cases, although that is completely up to the Organization. Students are encouraged to take up the WEP for the exposure and learning it offers rather than view it as a job.

Will I get a Certificate from the organization I work with?

Yes, you will get an experience certificate from the organization you work with upon successful completion of the internship.
