2. School Interviews

Overview: This is one of two pathways by which MPS seniors can apply for an EJI Legacy Scholarship. For the school interview pathway, students will participate in an interview held by a committee of MPS school site staff, submit an e-portfolio, and deliver a slideshow presentation that addresses each aspect of the criteria detailed here.

Eligibility: Applicants must be a graduating MPS senior pursuing future study in a qualifying program. Individual schools may impose additional eligibility requirements. 

General Timeline: 

January to February 2026: 

• • Carefully review the interview-pathway criteria and begin compiling the required components of your e-portfolio and presentation. 

  • Inform your school counselor of your interest in applying and ask them for interview scheduling and e-portfolio/presentation submission information. 

  • Submit materials to both your interview committee and EJI scholarship staff:

    • • Your full e-portfolio and presentation must be submitted to the interview committee at your school, according to their directions. 

      • Your letter of interest (only) and presentation must be submitted to the EJI scholarship staff using the links at the bottom of this page.

February to March 2026: 

• Interview with your school's committee (which includes presenting your slideshow and e-portfolio). Interview schedules will vary by school. Contact your counselor for more information.

Important: Reach out to your counselor sooner rather than later. Your interview committee may require the submission of your e-portfolio and presentation several weeks before interviews take place. You must submit application materials and complete the interview/presentation process within the timeframe established by your school's interview committee. Interview finalists will be chosen on or before Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Winners will be announced by EJI in mid-April. 

Don't forget: In addition to submitting your e-portfolio and presentation to your counselor and interview committee, you must also submit your letter of interest and presentation to EJI using the button with your school's name below. Make sure to select the correct school button.
