Changemaker Lecture Series
Mr Alister Ong, a regional voice in Diversity and Inclusion, will be sharing his journey of turning passion into purpose, and service into sustained impact. With speaking engagements across Australia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore, Mr Ong brings a wealth of cross-cultural insight into how inclusive leadership can spark transformation at every level of society.
Drawing from his background in Economics and his experience engaging with global organisations like Microsoft, J.P. Morgan, Bloomberg, LinkedIn, Uber, and more, Mr Ong explores how thought leadership and strategic change management can drive meaningful progress in both corporate and community settings.
As a committed grassroots leader, Mr Ong also speaks to the heart of service, highlighting real-life initiatives where citizen empowerment, collaboration, and innovation have led to measurable community change. His story is a testament to how one individual’s passion for service, paired with a strong sense of purpose, can ignite the power to create lasting and inclusive change.
It all started right here at EJC, with a group of students who believed that mental health conversations mattered. That belief became EJ Beautiful Minds. But the journey didn’t stop there.
After graduation, that same passion led Mr Ethan Tan to start Beautiful Humans, a project that uses art to amplify the voices of individuals with mental health conditions, and Project Obscura, which provides pro bono photography to underprivileged communities, capturing stories that deserve to be seen and remembered.
But this session isn’t just about change-making — it’s about so much more. It’s about discovering what excites us, pursuing passions that matter, and finding meaning beyond JC. Whether you’re figuring out what drives you, curious about life after JC, or just looking for new perspectives, this is a space to explore possibilities.
Look forward to the conversation where passions, purpose, and everything in between will be shared.
