Emotional Awareness is fundamental to effective self leadership, and to building sustainable relationships. By being more aware of the patterns in their thoughts and feelings, one can choose how to respond instead of reacting emotionally.
Interacting with those who are different from you can be scary, messy, and confusing. Questions of identity and power quickly come into play. In this Module, participants will explore concepts that are fundamental to developing mutually empowering relationships across differences.
This workshop is designed to equip you with the skills and information on how to lead your team in the Values in Action Project. You will learn about project management tools, discover factors that constitute effective communication, and engage in a brainstorming session of potential projects that your CCA can work on.
Do note that this workshop is compulsory for all CCA VIA representatives.
In this workshop, you will learn to recognise the different traits and personalities in a team, devise strategies and solutions to team friction and personality differences. You will also gain an overview of what makes the team fail and draw insights on what we can do to avoid these pitfalls.
In this workshop, you will learn how to recognise personal influence and its impact on others. Focus on self and character development as a way to build anchors in your leadership journey and identify personal locus on control to seize control over your own lives and outcomes.

Learn more about the leadership journey of an RSAF Officer and what it takes to embark on the less trodden path of a military career. MAJ Adelbert will share what motivated him to choose a career in leadership, the challenges he faced as a newly enlisted soldier, operational commander, and Centre head, as well as reflections on his journey thus far. Through the sharing of his personal experiences and an open dialogue, the session aims to provide insights on what it means to be a leader - influencing others to accomplish the mission, inspire commitment, and improve the organisation.
MAJ Adelbert Tan is an Air Warfare Officer by vocation. He is currently Head, Air Force Recruitment Centre. Prior to this, he held appointments in operations, command, and strategic planning. In his previous life, he was a wide-eyed student traversing the campuses of London School of Economics and Stanford University, in search of the meaning of eudaimonia through the (all too useful!) field of Political Science. Happily married and a new parent, he enjoys basketball, tennis and reading (reddit!) in the slivers of free time that he finds.
