Synopsis:
Ardmore Shipping (Singapore) Managing Director will talk with passion about one of the most important industries within Singapore and beyond across the world – shipping.
How many have flown into Changi and gazed out the window at the ships at anchor or looked out from the CBD at the many different sizes and shapes of ships in the bay? Lying on the beach on Sentosa, ever looked at the ships constantly passing by and wondered where are they going, what are they moving and how does this industry work?
Do you know that 90% of what you buy or use has been transported at some point on a ship, ever wondered where things come from and how it got here?
From the petrol in your car to the paint on your bedroom walls to the shoes on your feet and the food on your breakfast table, shipping makes the world go round, would you like to hear more?
Come and listen to an engaging and open talk with interactive opportunities to consider how an enquiring or challenging mindset can be put to good use in this exciting and vibrant industry.
There is a lot more to shipping than what you may have previously thought and with its diverse and wide-ranging functions, it appeals as much to young women as it does to young men.
Open your eyes, ears and mind to the world’s most global industry, challenge yourself to think about something different in terms of a career opportunity, it’s not just a job!
