This Deep Dive Day, we would like to give you some time and space to think, listen, experience, and create.
About 3 hours has been set aside on DDD#1 to enable you to engage in self-directed activities of your choice.
Select the activities from the list below. Pick a range of activities (one from the Purpose, Sought category; and any number from the Purpose, Pursued category) to earn at least 5 stars.
At the end of the main DDD#1 programme, you will share the products from these activities with your class, and engage in introspection together.

Note: All activities are individual activities, unless otherwise stated below.
Task:
Conduct one or two 45 min reading session(s) for the JC1 students (15 min sharing of personal story + 30 min of conversation with readers). Sharings will be done face-to-face in college.
You can choose to share a personal story based on one (or more) of the categories listed here.
You can choose to complete this task in a group of no more than 3 persons.
For your DDD#1 plan (to be done on 28 Jan):
Submit your proposed synopsis (max 100 words) here by 31 Jan. Do ensure that your synopsis is clear, succinct, and allows the readers to know what you will be sharing. The teachers will get back to you to let you know whether you have been selected in February.
Please post your proposed synopsis on the class padlet as well.
Form up your group, if you plan to complete this task as a group.
In the event that you are not selected to be a Human Book, please register for one of the sharings in the Purpose, Sought Lecture Series (see A2).
Task:
Register for and attend one of the sharings in the Purpose, Sought Lecture Series.
Registration will open in February. You will register for your preferred session individually.
The confirmed line-up of speakers and their synopses for ‘Purpose, Sought’ will be put up on this page in Feburary. You will register for your preferred session individually.
For your DDD#1 plan (to be done on 28 Jan):
Look through the biographies of the speakers and the synopses of their sharings here.
Identify two speakers whom you would like to hear from, and provide a short explanation why you have chosen them.
Task:
Take a walk near your home (or where you will be participating in DDD#1 from) and complete a set of tasks to increase and improve mindfulness. Exact instructions for the trail can be found here.
After the walk, capture your responses to the various tasks in a set of Google slides.
Upload the Google slides onto your class padlet.
For your DDD#1 plan (to be done on 28 Jan):
Identify 5 spots and/or objects found near your home which are of significance to you, and explain why.
Task:
Create a TEDtalk or Podcast on one of the following topics:
Purpose exploration
Purpose clarification
Fulfillment
Your sharing should be at least 10 minutes long.
You can choose to complete this task in a group of no more than 3 persons.

Write an outline for your script in point form.

Task
Pen a 300-word reflection based on the following prompts:
What was the most significant insight from the Purpose, Sought series and why?
What were some thoughts or emotions you had during the sharing? What do these reveal about you?
Drawing from these thoughts and emotions, what commitment would you like to make to yourself this year?
You can either write this in your SD journal, or type it out on a Google doc.
Upload a photo/scan of your entry in your SD journal or the Google doc onto your class padlet.
For your DDD#1 plan (to be done on 28 Jan):
Write down two questions for each of the speakers you have identified for A2.
Task
Book a session with your Life Coach and consolidate your insights through journaling after the session.
For your journal entry, focus on a maximum of 3 insights gleaned from your conversation with your life coach.
You can either write this in your SD journal, or type it out on a Google doc.
Upload a photo/scan of your entry in your SD journal or the Google doc onto your class padlet.
For your DDD#1 plan (to be done on 28 Jan):
Contact your Life Coach to check on his/her availability. If you find out later that he/she is not available to meet you on DDD#1, please select another activity.
Check with your Life Coach regarding any pre-conversation preparations that you need to do.
Write down the topic that you would like the Life Coaching session to focus on, and why you have chosen it. Feel free to elaborate on any current thoughts you have on the topic.
Task
Interview someone on the topic of ‘Youth with Purpose’. In your interview, you should try to understand some of the obstacles faced by your interviewee and how he/she overcame them.
Summarise your findings and main learning points on Google slides. Your slides should also contain a short profile of your interviewee and brief reasons for your choice.
Upload the Google slides onto your class padlet.
For your DDD#1 plan (to be done on 28 Jan):
Identify two persons whom you want to interview and why.
Start to make contact with them to arrange for the interview.
Task
Create a work of art that represents your goal(s) and your envisioned journey in life.
This could be in the form of a painting, comic, song, poem, or a handmade craft!
Capture your product as an image file, Google doc or any suitable format, and upload it onto your class padlet.
For your DDD#1 plan (to be done on 28 Jan):
Write a short paragraph to describe the concept of your work of art.
Task:
Design a picture or activity book for one of the following groups:
4 to 6-years-old pre-schooler
7 to 9-years-old primary-schooler
The book should revolve around the theme of exploring passion and/or purpose.
You can choose to complete this task in a group of no more than 3 persons.
Upload the completed book as a .pdf or common image files onto your class padlet.
