¿QUE VAS A APRENDER ESTE AÑO?
Unidad 1: El regreso al cole
In this unit, we'll be welcoming each other back to school! We'll review some things learned in prior years as well as learn to talk about our school day, what you need for your classes, and what you like (and don't) about your classes and our school.
You will read about school systems where Spanish is spoken and compare your experiences to those of Spanish-speaking students. You will demonstrate the ability to have a getting-to-know-you conversation, and present information to the class about yourself and your school day.

Unidad 2: En mis ratos libres
In Unit 2, we will be learning to talk about what we do in our free time after school and on the weekends. You will compare and contrast your interests with those of people your age in Spanish-speaking countries.
You will have a conversation with a partner about your interests and hobbies, read authentic texts about free-time activities in Spanish, and present information about what you do when you're not in school.
Unidad 3:
Mi familia, Mi hogar y mi Mundo
In this unit, students will describe family members, a house, its contents and express their preferences (likes / dislikes) about the various rooms and objects. Students will compare and contrast living in an apartment and a house in the target culture and the USA. Additionally, students will share information about their family members, describe them, and ask about other people's families. Students will discuss what chores they have to do at home and how often. Students will understand holiday celebrations and customs that involve the family and traditions and milestones, as well as seasonal holidays and celebrations from the target culture.
Unidad 4:
Mi pueblo y el mundo a su alrededor
We will finish the year talking about our town and neighborhoods, and comparing and contrasting them to those in Spanish-speaking countries. You will design an hispanic-style town or city in which to build the ideal home you designed in Unit 3. Also, you will talk more to one another using the skills and topics we learned over the course of the year.
