     Math Homework
60 minutes a week of the online program, IXL OR Reflex
It is a really great math program and it will really help them improve in math. We will be running contests throughout the year. It shows their math levels for each math category, so you as a parent know exactly what they need to improve on. A score of 300 would be a 3rd grade math level, 400 would be 4th grade and so on. They can access it through Clever and their school account.
Did you download the IXL app yet??
ELA Homework
For ELA, students are required to read at home for 30 minutes Monday through Thursday. Three nights out of each week, students respond to their reading by answering one question from their Response Questions Sheet. Students are required to choose a different response question each night. When responding to their reading, each of the three questions must have a paragraph response. The three reading responses are due on Friday, each week.Â
Students will also engage in an online ELA program called Lexia. Students have to complete at least 60 minutes of Lexia weekly. This program provides students with extra practice in word study, phonics, and reading comprehension.

Mrs. Cottelli's Corner
I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Cheri Cottelli and I will be your child’s Fifth Grade Math and Science Teacher for this school year!Â
About Me:Â
This will be my 18th year teaching 5th grade in Egg Harbor Township. I was a 2016 AtlantiCare Healthy Teacher Finalist and the 2018 EHT Teacher of the Year. I graduated from Rutgers University and Stockton University and am highly qualified in Mathematics. I also have been a LPGA Golf Professional for over 25 years and teach golf lessons at Hamilton Trails Golf Club. I am married to Brian Cottelli, who is an 8th grade Social Studies Teacher at Alder Avenue Middle School and have one son, Brian Jr. in eighth grade at Fernwood.
My teaching style is very organized, fair and try very hard to relate the work we do in the classroom to the real world. I have high expectations for behavior and effort in my classroom. Â

Ms. Champion's Minutes
I would like to introduce myself to parents and students! My name is Ms. Linda Champion and I will be your child’s Fifth Grade ELA and S.S. Teacher for this school year!Â
About Me:Â
This will be my 4th year teaching 5th grade in Egg Harbor Township.  I graduated from Stockton University with a concentration in Elementary Education. Go Ospreys! Â
I grew up in Northfield, NJ, but I currently reside in Somers Point!
I have an American Bully fur child, named Blaze. I also have a thoroughbred horse, named Averal! I love spending time with my animals, along with my family and friends! A few passions of mine are the beach, yoga, reading, coffee, horse-back riding, and the Philadelphia Eagles! 🦅
My teaching style is organized, fair, direct, and fun! I like to make sure both parents and students are aware of everything going on in and out of the classroom! I try very hard to make learning relevant to students and try to help them understand the "why" of why we learn what we do. I have high expectations for behavior and effort in my classroom. I'm looking forward to an awesome new school year!Â

I have a dog named Sammi, who is 12 years old and my only (fur) child. She's super sweet and LOVES to cuddle and sleep.Â
I love the beach, reading, and traveling to Florida to spend time with my nephews.
I have high expectations for student behavior and work ethic. We can certainly have fun along the way! Most important is for students to be respectful and try their very best. I am looking forward to a great year!!
