Welcome to Blue Pod!
Welcome to an exciting beginning of the school year 2023-2024!
Every September, I am enthusiastic about my new classes and students, and I intend to encourage and support them as they reach new writing and reading goals. In regard to reading, I hope to motivate students through analyzing and interpreting higher-level reading selections. I always encourage them to connect their own personal experiences to their reading.
Students will be engaged in close reading of short stories, non-fiction selections, Informational articles, novels and poems. Students will be actively engaging in various critical and creative thinking activities in response to novels and diverse texts. In addition, he or she will gain valuable writing knowledge and experience through journal reflections and a series of written assignments.
Finally, I look forward to working hand in hand with each of my students, and their families, this year in order to make this a productive, successful, and most importantly, enjoyable 8th Grade experience for everyone involved.

Class Requirement
In order for students to be prepared for class each and every day, they will need to bring the following:
1. Chromebooks and chargers
2. Headphones or earbuds
3. Independent reading material, when assigned.
4. Homework (Most homework and assignments will be expected to be turned in via the Google Classroom.)
All materials and assignments will be provided in the Google Classroom.
