About Mrs. S

Hello, my name is Christa Schoenfeld and I am a Montana native who is excited to be joining all of you at East Helena High School. Go Vigilantes!

I grew up in Miles City, Montana, in the eastern part of the state and attended Custer County District High School back in the day!

After graduating from CCDHS, I attended Montana State University-Billings. I graduated from MSU-B with a Bachelor's degree in Biology Secondary Education with double minors in Teaching Earth Science and Teaching Chemistry. I completed my student teaching overseas at The Manurewa High School, in Manurewa, Auckland, New Zealand, and had a fantastic experience, being exposed to such a diverse educational environment.

Following my student teaching, I taught 8th and 9th grade sciences for 5 years in South Jordan, Utah. I also coached 9th grade girls basketball with my husband, Mark.

After 5 years, I convinced my husband that Montana was where we should be and we moved to the Helena area in 2003 and have been here ever since.

During that time, I taught summer school earth science for the Helena School District, part time at Capital High School, and for 7 years I was the science teacher at the Access to Success diploma recovery completion program for Helena School District.

This is my 3rd year at East Helena High School and I am the co-advisor for Student Council and the Green Club advisor.

I live in the East Helena area and am excited to teach in the beautiful new EHHS with fantastic East Helena students!!

I have been married to my husband, Mark, for over 20 years. He works for the State of Montana. He loves to bike and has passed that interest on to my children and myself. We love to do things together outside most often and are a very active busy family!

I am the proud mom to 3 kids.

Rylie-attends Rocky Mountain College and runs cross country and track for the Battlin' Bears!

Rori-attends EHHS, plays volleyball, basketball, and does track

Bryce-attends EVMS and there isn't a sport he doesn't like. He also likes to tell jokes!
