Textbooks and core novels are available during School Library Hours. Students may return or check out these books at the Library Textbook Windows or inside of the library at the school counter. Please keep in mind our hours and location may vary during textbook checkout and return at the beginning and end of each term - signage will be posted.
Textbooks are checked out/returned with your class. If you are absent or forget your book the day your class is scheduled, it is your responsibility to checkout/return the book on your own.
Check Follett Destiny to see which textbooks are still on your account, their due dates, and if you have any fines that need to be resolved.
Make sure to notify library staff ASAP once you realize your book is lost or damaged. Please don't repair them on your own. We can give you some options, depending on the book, so the sooner you speak with us, the better!
Per district policy, a 2nd textbook is only given to students with a medical need. Please see library staff to learn about the process and for paperwork that needs to be completed.
If you are coming to checkout a textbook without your teacher, please make sure to bring a pass as well.
Write your name in the designated spot inside the textbook once you check it out, in case they get mixed up.
Don't let others borrow your book.
Storing books in classrooms is done so at your own risk.
Any loss or damages that incur are your responsibility, so keep track of your book and take care of it!
Check your books upon checkout and notify library staff within 7 days if there are any existing damages to the book. Otherwise, you may be held responsible for the damage not noted previously.
Don't eat or drink anything around your book-- spills happen accidentally.
Keep your books in a secure location, out of reach from younger siblings and pets, to avoid accidental damages.
Ensure water bottle lids are secure before placing them in your backpack.
If your backpack is not waterproof, keep your books in a plastic bag inside your backpack. Do not carry your books in your hands when it is raining.
Do not write, draw, or highlight anything inside your book.
If a book becomes damaged, bring the book to report it to a library staff member ASAP. We will take a look at the damages incurred and determine a plan to resolve the situation.
If a fine is assessed, it will be dependent on the extent of the damage.
Depending on which book is damaged, we may discuss different options that may be available to resolve a fine. See a library staff member for details.
