You will be given formula sheets to use on your official math tests. You don't need to memorize the formulas, but you do need to know how to use them and where to find what you need on the formula sheet for your test. You should have a printed copy with you whenever you are studying math.
You are permitted to and MUST use a calculator to be successful on your math tests. You are being tested on your critical thinking skills and whether you know the approach and steps to solving a math problem. By using the calculator for arithmetic calculations, you will have the time you need to get through all the questions. Embrace it!
You will given a TI-30XS to use during your test at EGACE. Because you need to build your comfort, skills, and speed using the TI-30XS, please purchase one to use for studying.
Texas Instruments TI-30XS MultiView
approximately $18 at local stores (e.g., Office Depot, Walmart, Staples, Amazon)
This guide and video were produced by GED® but they are helpful for both GED® and HiSET® equivalency testers.
Remember to use your calculator and formula sheet as you study so that you are building speed and accuracy skills for the official tests.
