At T.R. Smedberg Middle School, our Athletics Program offers students opportunities to engage in structured sports and build essential life skills. Through athletic participation—ranging from volleyball and basketball to wrestling and track & field—our student-athletes learn teamwork, discipline, and perseverance in a supportive and inclusive environment.
ATHLETIC CLEARANCE:
ALL athletic clearances must be done online. If you have submitted a physical EGUSD form and need it back, it will be placed in the front office, so you can upload it to your profile.
Physicals MUST have a stamp from a physician's office. Physicals missing this portion will result in a delayed clearance.

Once cleared, you can expect to receive an email notifying you of clearance or any steps that are missing. Please allow for at least 1 - 2 school days for all clearances. All submissions must be received by 1 PM the day of tryouts if a student plans to try out that day. Physicals submitted after this time may result in an athlete not being cleared for that day's tryouts.
All student athletes must have a completed athletic paperwork prior to trying out and participating in practice/games/competitions. Available in the front office.
Physical MUST be completed May 1, 2026 or later. Physicals completed prior to this date will not be accepted.
