To date we have built three tiny homes for homeless veterans in collaboration with Kavanah of Sacramento. These tiny homes are build entirely by students and serve as a teaching tool for the construction sectors. The homes are fully insulated and feature a ventilation fan and a platform for a twin bed. There are solar panels which charge the home during the day and 110V outlets and LED lighting.
It is our hope that these tiny homes provide someone in need, that has served our country, a safe and peaceful home while they gain employment and can eventually provide for themselves.
This year will be our first year competing in the Sacramento Regional Builder's Exchange Design Build Competition at Cosumnes River College on May 2 and 3. Please come cheer us on! We hope to be building most of our 4th Tiny Home for Homeless Veterans for the competition.
