Class Overview

 This course is designed to introduce 7th-grade students to the basics of computer technology. Students will learn about the different parts of a computer, how to use navigate the Google Suite, and how to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. They will also learn about graphic design, programming and the physical parts of the computer, internet safety, and copyright laws.

About me

Mrs. Shannon is a veteran teacher with over 30 years of experience as a bilingual teacher, a Spanish teacher, and a Computer Technology Teacher.  For over 20 years, she supported EGUSD teachers as a Technology Specialist.  In that role, she supported teachers with workshops and application implementation strategies.  She also participated in various strategic EGUSD committees including the selection of Synergy, our student information management system, and the planning of our EGUSD Career Pathways and Academies Programs.  In addition to teaching at Edward Harris Jr. Middle School, Mrs. Shannon serves as the School Webmaster and is the Leader of our Technology Task Force.  Mrs. Shannon holds both and B.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and certificates in bilingual and primary language acquisition and development.  Mrs. Shannon is also a Google for Education Champion Trainer.
