Chromebook Checkout: 1st through 6th graders are expected to bring a district issued Chromebook with them to school daily. We can provide you with one. Just stop by our office to check one out.  PLEASE NOTE: 1st grade students do not need to come to the office to check out a Chromebook during the beginning of the 23 24 school year. We will notify you of the date that EGUSD tech services will come to our site to check out Chromebooks to 1st grade students during class time.

Carroll Elementary School ExL Program Interest Form for the 2024 -2025 School Year

Carroll Families, 

Carroll Elementary has again been awarded Expanded Learning Opportunities funding for the next school year which allows us to offer our families free after school care for the 2024-2025 school year.  This program will be offered by Champions, and provide a safe and active place for students after school. It is designed for students to receive homework support, an engaging enrichment program, and a nutritious snack.  For the 2024-2025 school year, our program will be open to our Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade students.

We are excited to offer the Carroll ExL Program each day that school is in session. Please complete the interest form  if you are interested in your child attending the Carroll ExL Program.  The Carroll ExL Program will have a limited number of spots available, and a priority registration system, based on specific criteria outlined by the State of California, will be utilized to place interested students.  

This form is being utilized to gauge interest in your family's participation in the 2024-2025 Carroll Elementary School ExL Program. Completing this form allows us to understand how many students wish to participate in the program for the next school year. Completing this form does NOT enroll your student(s) in the ExL Program. This ExL interest form will close on April 12th at 5pm.

Arts & Music Funding for Carroll

We are excited to be receiving some dedicated arts funding for our school! In order to make these funds most impactful for our students and school, we are asking for your input as to how we will spend this money.

Camp Carroll Tentaive Session Dates 

Carroll Elementary School  will be offering a 5 day intersession program while your student is off-track.  This program will provide a safe and active place for students during school hours, and participating students will have the option to attend the after school ExL program. Intersession is designed for students to receive an engaging enrichment program and nutritious meals. Currently, the program is open to our Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade students. We will send out the interest form for each Camp Carroll session before your student(s) go off track. We wanted to send you the tentative dates for the remainder of the year for Camp Carroll:

C.R.E.S.T. Quest 

Students from throughout the Elk Grove Unified School District competed in the Capitol Region Engineering Science and Technology (C.R.E.S.T) competitionWe had a team of dedicated GATE students at Carroll who competed in this regional competition. Our young scientists put their skills to the test by building paper rollercoasters, engineering towers of blocks, designing paper sails, creating water powered rockets, designing arcade games made of cardboard, and so much more. Our students competed in so many different competitions throughout the day embedded in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).  Our Carroll team did amazing!

New Student Welcome Packets Available at your home school office or online at EGUSD.net starting on: Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 7:30AM 

 

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Registration: Transitional Kindergarten Eligible - Your child turns 5 years old on or between September 2, 2024 – June 2, 2025

WHERE DO I DROP OFF THE TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION PACKET? Transitional Kindergarten registration packets will be time and date stamped by our office team when it is turned into our office completed. If your home school is Carroll, please stop by our office to pick up, as well as return a completed TK registration packet between the hours of 7:30 am until 3:50 pm. IMPORTANT: Transitional Kindergarten (TK) registration/welcome packets will be date and time stamped and are due back as soon as possible in order to solidify your child's spot. Those placements at our schools and in our classrooms are filled based on the student's date and time of registration at the school.

If you live within the boundaries of the Elk Grove Unified School District, and your child turns 5 years old on or between September 2, 2024 – June 2, 2025, you may register him/her for Transitional Kindergarten.

WHERE DO I DROP OFF THE KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION PACKET? 

If your home school is Carroll, our office will begin accepting kindergarten registration packets on January 10th. You can stop by our office to pick up a Welcome Packet or fill out a Welcome Packet online and return the packet anytime between 7:30 am until 3:50 pm. Please remember that for kindergarten registrations there is not a need to wait in line to pick up or drop off the packet since kindergarten is utilizing a randomized schedule/track selection process.  The Welcome Packet will need to be returned by 3:30pm on February 21st, 2024 in order to participate in the Kindergarten Randomized Track Selection Process. 

If you live within the boundaries of the Elk Grove Unified School District, and your child turns 5 years old on or before September 1, 2024, you may register him/her for the 2024-2025 kindergarten school year.

NEW! StudentVUE and ParentVUE Push Notifications Now Turned On

As mentioned in our letter sent on April 13th about communication, we encourage parents and students to email their teachers and school staff using StudentVue and ParentVue. Now, students and parents will see a notification about an email on the app. If you don’t have the app installed on your handheld device, here’s where you can find the download.

There are three ways a students can get to sudentVUE:

StudentVUE helps students stay informed and connected by providing day-to-day insight into their own academic experience.

PLEASE NOTE: during the period of closure, grades were not being entered for enrichment and review. The grading period will begin April 20th.
