Mrs. Sewatsky lives in Charlestown with her husband, her 7 year old son, Marcus, and her 4 year old daughter, Adeline. This is her 20th year teaching science in East Greenwich. She enjoys the outdoors and spends her spare time road cycling, hiking, gardening, raising monarch butterflies, and playing ice hockey.
8th grade science is inquiry-based. Students create explanations and draw conclusions based on their observations and discoveries. In addition, we use a digital platform called Amplify Science to cover various Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Topics include energy, chemistry, and physics. Throughout the year, we will discuss current events as well.
This year, the Cole science curriculum aligns with the physical science topics in Amplify Science.
