BASIC INFO

Mentors must be:

• 21 years old

• Cannot be a relative

• Cannot work at a business owned or managed by a family member

• Cannot be a faculty member at East Greenwich High School

Mentors must meet all volunteer requirements established by the East Greenwich School District and all Rhode Island statutes.

Mentors are required to sign certain documents (found under the Forms tab):

• Mentor Consent Form

• Criminal Background Check Form (BCI)*

• Volunteer Agreement/Statement of Confidentiality Form

• Fieldwork Verification Log

Parents/Guardians are required to sign certain documents regarding mentors:

• Parent/Guardian Consent Form

*A BCI and Mentor Volunteer Agreement/Statement of Confidentiality Form is not required for advisors who are faculty members of EGSD or East Greenwich Police Department. A mentor has a right to refuse execution of these documents. In that event, the mentor will not be approved. The BCI results must be clear to be approved as a mentor.
