Flea Market Facts for Fourth Graders
Fact#1 – Advertising
Students are allowed to create advertisements for their business. This is not required but is encouraged. They need to use their own materials and they may hang their signs in the hallway. Always ask permission before hanging a sign by a teacher’s classroom.
Students may create a video advertisement that will be shared with other Wealthy students. It should be sent through email to their classroom teacher.
All signs need to be taken down 24 hours after the flea market ends. Any sign that teachers need to take down will cost that business 25 cents.
Fact #2 - $$$$$
Students may charge up to $3 per item unless they have permission to charge more. Also, the cost should be in increments of 25 cents.
Students will be able to keep the $ they make from the flea market. They will be required to turn in a Money breakdown and budget sheet. It will be due on the following day after the flea market.
Fact #3 – Food
All food items need to be individually wrapped. Students will not be able to sell food products that are unwrapped. Students will not be allowed to give free samples of food.
Fact #4 – Drinks
Drinks may be poured and sold in individual cups. Hot cocoa must be served at a warm temperature of 130 degrees. It may not be served hot due to the possibility of burning mouths of young children.
Fact #5 – All sales are final!
Students may not ask for a refund or try to resell a product.
Fact #6 – Tables
Students will be renting tables for $1.
