To My Wonderful Students,

I have been thinking a lot about you lately, actually everyday. Thinking about how I could entertain you or what resources I could provide that could help you keep moving forward. I come up completely empty……….. every...single... day.

I have to be completely honest, it’s been hard for me. I’m really trying to stay positive and make the best of this situation we are all in. It would be so much easier to do if I had 45 students to look forward to seeing every morning at 7:40(or 7:50, 7:55...but who is keeping track). I wonder everyday what you are thinking about, what your worries are, and what I could possibly do to help you through this time and keep you moving forward as a musician and young person.

So as we begin to navigate this new way of communicating with each other until the end of the school year, please know that I care deeply about not only teaching you music but supporting your growth as a student and human being on this planet. I want each of you to know that moving forward we are all in this together!! I’m sure I will be working well beyond my one hour a day and I don’t care.

I have learned these things over the last couple weeks that I want to share with you. Music has the power to lessen my worries, make me laugh, allow me to share with others when there is no words, and also express myself in a way that brings me joy. I’m hoping over the next several weeks each of you are able to experience music in these ways through what we do together. I can’t wait to see your faces again, I miss you deeply! Look forward to connecting soon!
