HEAD COACH:

Ryan Kasowski

Coach Ryan Kasowski is entering his 10th year as Head Football Coach of the Green Wave. Coach Kasowski is a graduate of Grand Forks Central High School. He  received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota, and his masters degree from North Dakota State University.  He started his coaching and teaching career at Kindred High School where he taught Physical Education and was the defensive coordinator. Most recently, he coached at Grand Forks Central. He currently teaches Physical Education at East Grand Forks Senior High School. Coach Kasowski and his wife Kristin have been married for 10 years and have two daughters Keeley and Ella.

Coach Mike Mahar

Coach Michael Mahar is a graduate of Cavalier (ND) High School, and received both his undergraduate degree and his masters degree from the University of North Dakota. He has been a teacher and coach in the East Grand Forks School System for 24 years. In that time, he has coached cross country, basketball and track as well as serving for 19 years as an assistant football coach. In his time as a football coach he has served as the defensive coordinator for 13 years for the Green Wave. Michael lives in East Grand Forks with his wife, Angie, and their five children; Sami, Tyson, Jaxon, Weston, and Charlee.

Coach Dane Kjono

Coach Dane Kjono is a graduate of Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, MN. He received both his undergraduate and masters from Minnesota State University Moorhead. He has been a teacher and coach at East Grand Forks Sr. High for 9 years. Along with coaching football he has also coached baseball and coordinates the drivers education program. While coaching football he has worked with everything from the defensive line to wide receivers, running backs and defensive backs. Dane is the special teams coordinator of the Green Wave. He resides in East Grand Forks with his wife Chelsey and son Carter.

Coach Shannon Stassen

Coach Shannon Stassen spent 18 years as a college football coach at Valley City State, North Dakota State and University of Minnesota Crookston. Coach Stassen currently coaches the Green Wave Varsity Offensive and Defensive lines.

Coach Paul Stinar

Coach Paul Stinar is a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in East Grand Forks, MN. He went on to the University of North Dakota where he earned his degree in Physical Education. He then went on to receive his Middle School Math endorsement from Bemidji State University. Following college, Paul spent one year teaching in Grand Forks, one year in Fargo, seven years in Fisher, one year at Sacred Heart, and is in his fourth year in the East Grand Forks school district. He also has several years of experience coaching football, basketball, and baseball. Paul currently teaches 7th grade math and coaches 9th grade football and middle school baseball. Paul resides in East Grand Forks with his wife Haley, daughter Jensen, and sons Jameson and Jagger.

Coach Matt Palmiscno

Coach Matt Palmiscno is a graduate from both the University of North Dakota and the University of New Haven, holding both a bachelor's and master’s degree. Coach Palmiscno will work with the Green Wave running backs and linebackers. Coach Palmiscno is also the JV defensive coordinator.

Coach Jake Wesoloski

Coach Jake Wesoloski is a native of Williston, North Dakota.  He is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and has both a Bachelor's and Master's degree from there.  He also has completed his K-12 Administration degree from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.  He has coached Freshman football for the Green Wave since the fall of 2018.  He is a Special Education teacher at Central Middle School and has been there since 2011. 

Coach Alex Robertson

Coach Robertson is a graduate of East Side (2011). Coach Robertson is currently the JV Defensive coordinator. He also coaches safeties and wide receivers. Coach Robertson earned his Bachelor's degree at the University of North Dakota in history and social studies education. Coach Robertson is currently pursuing his master's degree in American history at Pace University. During the past summers Coach Robertson has worked and operated a landscaping business in the area. In his spare time he likes to work on a home project, go running/biking on the Greenway, or watch whatever documentary Netflix has suggested for me now.


Coach Roger Hanson

Coach Zach Riskey

Coach Zach Riskey is a Grand Forks native and a graduate of Grand Forks Central (2014). He earned his Bachelor's degree at the University of North Dakota in Social Studies Education. This year will be his third year teaching, he spent the last two years teaching in Stephen-Argyle. He is currently pursuing his master's degree in Educational Leadership at MSUM.

Along with teaching, I also coach football and hockey here at the Senior High. During the past summers I have coached baseball in the area as well. In my spare time I like to golf, play softball, hangout with my golden retriever Leo, and go hunting.


Coach Noah Korger

My name is Coach Noah Korger and I am currently a first year law student at UND and former police officer for Fargo.

 

My football background is being a member of the 2012 and 2013 state teams for Rosemount High School in MN. I played defensive end on the 2013 team, but also learned middle linebacker and fullback for playoffs due to injuries.

In college I was the varsity defensive line coach for Waseca High School in 2017, but originally was going to coach offensive line for them. For games I was a booth coach and run game/pass rush monitor.


More recently I was a 10th grade coach for Farmington High School in the fall of 2021.
