Community Service

DUE TO COVID-19 COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE COUNTED FOR ANY HELP YOU PROVIDE TO OUR COMMUNITY. TO GAIN FULL CREDIT COMPLETE THE REQUIREMENTS BELOW IN A GOOGLE DOC THAT YOU SUBMIT ELECTRONICALLY TO YOUR TEACHER.

Five Hours of Community Service per quarter - this is not employment related or court ordered and may not be during school time. You will seek out community service on your own. Your teacher will occasionally have options for you. Check your classroom news & notes board or the P.I.G. website for details. Community Service is volunteer work that benefits the community. Therefore, if you get paid, it doesn’t count. You are required to submit a completed community service log sheet and evaluation

Community Service Project Requirements

In order to receive full credit for your community service you must meet the following standards:

50% of your grade is based on completing 5 hours of community service and turning in a completed and signed form.

25% of your grade is based on a typed summary of your experience while volunteering and should be at least one paragraph long. (6 sentences)

25% of your grade is based on turning in some form of visual aid that represents your community service. Be creative!

· Flyers

Your grade will be based on the effort and creativity put into the completion of this project, so make it a reflection of the organizations that you volunteered for and of the hard work and time you spent volunteering!


Tips:

· Complete community service hours early

· Volunteer with a friend

· Document your experience

· Make sure your form is signed

· Extra forms are always available on the PIG website

· Volunteer for something that you enjoy!
