Technology has become an integral part of the classroom environment. By integrating technology into the classroom, teachers are changing the way they used to teach and providing students with the tools that will take them into the 21st century. There are more tools and resources than ever for using technology in the classroom. Their uses in the classroom are only limited my a teacher's imagination. Below you will find some resources integrating technology in the 21st century classroom and ways it will be used in Room 29 this year.

Every student in the EGCSD has a Google account. K-2 students have access to all Google products, except gmail. Their gmail accounts will not be "turned on" until third grade. I am very much looking forward to continue to integrate Google products, such as Google Classroom and slides, into my second grade classroom.

It would be helpful if parents could start becoming familiar with Google products. The district has put together a Technology Tutorial page. It is a great resource for parents, teachers, and students to become familiar with what Google has a offer. Also, if there is any questions that you have regarding Google, you can just "Google it".

1. Open Google Chrome. Google Classroom will not work in other web browsers. Go to www.google.com

2. Click on sign in located in the upper right hand corner of the Google page.

3. Have your child log in using their school username (email address- it is not case sensitive) and password.

4. Click on the group of squares in the upper right hand corner. This is also known as the "waffle". This is where you can find all the Google Applications (known as G Suite).

5. Find Google Classroom. Your child will see an assignment and should know what to do from here.

If you are using a tablet you can download Google Classroom (and all Google Suit apps) from the I Tunes Store or the Google Play Store. Remember, if you are having trouble with something you can always "Google" your question.
