English Department Grading Practices
Each teacher will detail his or her grading practices on a course syllabus
Grading policies for participation and extra credit (if offered) will be clearly stated on each course outline
Writing Assignments and Projects will lose 10 points for each day past the original due date. After 3 days the assignment cannot earn a grade higher than 65%. After 5 days, the assignment cannot earn a grade higher than 50%, REGARDLESS OF QUALITY.
Late homework is only accepted at each teacher's discretion.
Plagiarism is a serious offense. If a student is found to be guilty of plagiarism, he or she will receive a zero for the assignment.
