What is the IFYE Conference? 

The IFYE (International Farm Youth Exchange) conference is the most important annual event for IFYE's, members of rural youth organizations (such as 4H, Young Farmers etc) and individuals interested in rural development from all over the world. Held every summer, it offers a great opportunity to connect with friends from all over the world. It’s more than just a meeting, it’s a decades-old network built on cultural understanding and lifelong learning. 

What’s happening at the conference?

The conference is a platform where members of national committees meet to discuss exchange programs between their countries. It’s also a place for sharing and growth:

• Sharing stories: Real talk about rural life, farming and youth work in different parts of the world.

• Exploring the host country: A chance to dive into the local traditions, nature and lifestyle of the place we’re visiting.

• Making friends for life: Connecting different generations of exchange participants and building friendships that cross borders.

• Shaping the future: During the conference, we host the General Assembly (GA), where the European board meets to discuss plans and make key decisions for IFYE Europe.

Tradition and Organization

Each year, the conference is held in a different European country, organized by a team of enthusiastic local IFYEs. Every fifth year, the event scales up to a World Conference, bringing even more global perspectives together.

What’s next?

In August 2026, the 66th European Conference is coming to Estonia, at the Nelijärve Holiday Center. It’s a fantastic opportunity to welcome the international community back here, share our stories and celebrate the spirit of global citizenship.
