ELA - Learn & review classroom routines and procedures throughout the following weeks. Participate in team-building activities. Work together to create a class social contract. Assign class materials and jobs. Weekly reading point goal of 1 cumulative point (7%) due Friday; individualized trimester reading points goal reached by November 6.
Math - Unit 1 Area & Volume. Students review area concepts and explore strategies for finding areas of rectangles with fractional side lengths.
Science - Matter is Everywhere. Students discover that matter exists, even if it cannot be seen.
Social Studies - Studies Weekly 1. Students will use a map to identify physical features and the natural regions of the United States.

All parents should have logged into the Parent Portal at some point. This is a secure platform through which you can view your child's teacher/class, receive your child’s report card, complete enrollment, and submit the necessary beginning-of-the-year school forms, including your child's emergency card. COMPLETE THESE FORMS BY AUGUST 11!
If you need help logging in, please call our school's office at 224-4140. Be sure to keep your login information in a safe but accessible place.
Digital Parent Forms - Digitally approve the Handbook Agreements form to allow your child to check out library books and use a Chromebook. We use the Chromebook and visit the library weekly, so these are important resources to approve and allow your child access.

New Scholastic Book Club flyers are here, and they’re filled with great new books to help your child improve their reading skills.
Please take a few minutes to browse the flyer with your child to pick out the books they’re excited to read. If you decide to place an order, you can do so through our class ordering page. Your books will
arrive at school about 10 days after I submit our classroom order.

This is a reminder that parents have access to all Family Letter units of our math program. These letters include Solutions to all the Home Link assignments, example questions, and standards. It's another way to help support your child with math assignments.

Riffle Raffle
Riffle Raffle
It's that time of year to sell Riffle Raffle tickets to raise money for our classroom (e.g., parties, MiraMart prizes, T2 movie treats, birthday treats). Winners of the Riffle Raffle will be chosen at the Sundial Bridge Festival on Saturday, October 17.
You may get tickets to sell from your child’s teacher. If you sign the permission form sent home last week, you will receive 1 envelope containing 5 tickets. Once you sell those 5 tickets, return the ticket stubs and corresponding money to your teacher, and you may then request more tickets if you wish. Our goal is for every student to sell at least 5 tickets.
IMPORTANT: Any tickets not sold must be returned to the school. There is a $5 charge for each lost ticket.
