Course Overview

This class focuses on integrating the four strands of ELA such as reading, writing, speaking/listening, and language (grammar/mechanics). Students will engage with classic and modern literature and a variety of nonfiction texts; compose well-crafted essays; participate in academic discussions; and build their academic vocabulary and grammar skills. Ultimately, Students will learn to question, analyze, and argue their thinking through varied reading and writing practices. All materials are aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
