The Speakers

Anne-Sophie Crépin

Anne-Sophie Crépin is member of the Strategic Advisory Committee at the Stockholm Resilience Centre and the deputy director of the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics. Her research links scientific theories about the Anthropocene, regime shifts and economic dynamic, focuses on the interplay between economic incentives, ecosystem regime shifts, policy and human behaviour. Crépin holds a PhD in Economics from the Department of Economics at Stockholm University.

Vic Adamovicz

Vic Adamowicz is a Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology, Faculty of Agricultural, Life & Environmental Sciences, University of Alberta. He obtained his BSc and MSc from the University of Alberta (1981, 1983) and his PhD from the University of Minnesota in 1988. His research has integrated the environment into economic analysis, focused on the valuation of environmental amenities and ecosystem services and the incorporation of environmental values into economic analysis – with applications to forestry, water quality, air quality, endangered species and agriculture. His research also involves the analysis of choice behavior with applications to food demand, recreation, and environmental quality.

Eren Zink

Dr. Eren Zink is currently the First Secretary and Research Advisor at the Embassy of Sweden, Bangkok, Thailand. Before traveling far from the West to Southeast Asia, Eren had worked as Senior Researcher, Coordinator and Director of Advanced Studies in Cultural Anthropology at the Uppsala University then Research Advisor for Sida Headquarter in Stockholm, Sweden.

Eren Zink got a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from Uppsala University of Sweden. Since 2000 he has actively researched, written on, and worked with scientists from developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. His primary research interests are science studies, political ecology, environmental conservation, economic anthropology, international development, and media studies.
