Research Symposium: Thursday, September 21
The Research Symposium is an opportunity for new and experienced researchers to present current research in the environmental field. This provides an opportunity for connection and discussion among environmental educators, as well as a chance to learn about new topics. Researchers will submit a poster to display at the symposium, and are also welcome to submit a proposal for sessions.
Learning Sessions: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning, September 22 - 24
Session Presenters are asked to choose topics relevant to the following threads of focus for the conference:
Equity & Inclusion - advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion; influencing attitudes; equal access to nature and EE; healthy environments and healthy communities for all, etc.
Education in Practice - EE curriculum programs; K-12 education; adult and family education; STEM; green and healthy schools; climate education; place based education, indigenous wisdom, new and innovative projects and/or programs; technology-based learning; hybrid/virtual learning; technology in and out of the classroom; etc.
Community Engagement - community outreach and partnerships; advocacy; EE for schools; governments and municipalities; networking; politics; policy; etc.
Capacity Building - non-profit and EE provider capacity building; cultivating partnerships for increased capacity; program administration; successful boards; grant writing; fundraising; technology and apps for administration and program management; etc.
