Welcome to the SHIKKHA Climate Action Course, an open learning resource created by World University of Bangladesh (WUB). Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and Bangladesh is among the countries most affected by it. Yet many people still find it hard to get simple, reliable and understandable information about what is happening, why it is happening and what each of us can do.
This course is designed to change that. It explains climate change step by step, in plain language, from the science and the causes to the impacts on Bangladesh and the practical solutions available to individuals, communities and nations. No science background is needed, and the course is free for anyone to read and share.
The course has been developed by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at World University of Bangladesh, Lake Drive Road, Avenue 6, Sector 17, Uttara, Dhaka, as part of its contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 4 (Quality Education). WUB believes that a university serves society best when it shares knowledge openly and inspires young people to act.
