Short Description:
This invention offers a calibration-free cuffless blood pressure monitoring device. Unlike other cuffless blood pressure measurement devices, it has a new method or process to estimate both the systolic and diastolic blood pressure components very precisely and the device is compact in size. This device features a new way of measuring blood pressure, where it just needs to be held with the fingers of both hands. Its integrated display shows the estimated blood pressure values alongside heart rate and risk factors.
The present invention is a self-contained (no wires or external probes), cuffless, handheld blood pressure monitor that does not require calibration and provides results that are equivalent to traditional cuff-based blood pressure measuring techniques. It achieves this result by using various mathematical relationships between pulse wave velocity, age, height, and weight to calculate a user’s SBP and DBP. Consequently, this compact device allows a user to easily track their blood pressure throughout the course of a day/week/year without having to visit a medical office.
