Apple Regional Training Centres (RTC) deliver courses to build the skills and confidence of teachers to use Apple technology inside and outside the classroom. We are a community who share best practices and inspire excellence through teaching with Apple technology.
All of our workshops in the Aberdeenshire RTC are run by the Learning through Technology Team and focus on learning and pegagogy with digital tools, not just the technical aspects. Susan and Jim from the Learning through Technology Team are Apple Teachers and are also experienced in using Swift Playgrounds to teach computing science skills.
At each workshop we have iPads for you to use, but if you can please bring a school iPad with you.

This session looks at how you can bring your lessons to life using Augemented Reality and Virtual Reality Apps. We will also look at how students can create, share and view their own 3D designs.

This session is to support teachers to gain the skills and confidence to successfully gain their Apple Teacher badges. Each of the topics below could be delivered as a stand-alone twilight, or for confident teachers more than 1 topic could be covered in one session

• Coding with Swift Playgrounds
During each of these courses, we will support teachers to sign-up and login to the Apple Teacher Learning Centre and work through completing some of their badges.
Requirements: iPad with following apps installed: Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Garageband, IMovie, ItunesU, iBooks and Swift Playgrounds
You should also have a personal iTunes account

In this session you will learn how to customise the iPad for individual learner's needs and requirements.
You will learn:
- How to access the accessibility features
- How to use each of the accessibility features
- How to enable and disable accessibility features
- How to use the features to increase student engagement
- How students can use the features as and when required
- How these features can increase student confidence and allow students to use the same device as their peers
We will also look at additional apps that support all pupils to record and capture their learning.
