Digital Counters (Adding & Subtracting Integers)

Counters are great manipulatives for students to use when they need to model adding and subtracting integers. With distance learning, those go-to manipulatives that we use to be able to use daily are no longer an option. So, I have creating digital assignment that include counters! Blue counters represent a positive value of 1 and the red counters represent a value of negative 1. BUT... when a blue and red counter overlap, they turn purple! This change in color helps students understand the canceling of a positive and negative value!

Absolute Value

I was very excited to try out my Absolute Value digital assignment during summer school this year. Being fully online and with a smaller number of students than during the regular school year, I was able to test a lot of digital assignment ideas over this last month. This assignment has a built in number line that allows students to really understand that absolute value is about the DISTANCE of a number from zero. As students physically removed numbers from the number line, they were better able to understand the concept of Absolute Value.

Mean, Median, Mode & Range

DATA, DATA, DATA! This "Mean, Median, Mode & Range" assignment includes a drag and drop review of the definitions for each type of data analysis. Then, the students are provided with practice data sets to calculate.

Letter Tracing Book

Each page provides letter writing practice for a specific letter. The pages include upper and lowercase practice. Pages can be printed on card stock, laminated, and spiral bound into a "whiteboard" version.
