Who We Are

Danica teaches grade 8 Humanities. She is passionate about giving students leadership opportunities. She loves to rock climb and river surf!

Mrs. Fulwiler is our grade eight Humanities teacher! She is such a caring person and is always around and willing to help us with whatever we need. Her passion and love for whatever she commits herself to is inspiring and motivates us to be the best version of ourselves.

Spider is an amazing artist with so much talent, and they love bugs. They are one of the backbones of our project right alongside Ms. Derksen and Ms. Fulwiler. A style icon and artist extrordinaire.

Aliza is a very outgoing girl but likes to keep her main circle small. a very caring person, Aliza takes time to make sure her friends are okay and defends them if they are not. In her free time, she does boxing and goes to dance class. She is very competitive not only when she is enjoying her hobbies but also in her everyday life. Competing in gym class and with everything in general. With her determination and drive, she was a very key part of the completion of this project.

Iris is a person who is never afraid to voice her opinions. She never hesitates to contribute to class discussions or in a regular conversation. Iris is the type of friend who always has your back, making sure you don’t do anything stupid to harm yourself. She is very active and outdoorsy, she loves to rock climb.

Kira is a student who is very passionate about this project. They are very unique and proud of it. They obsess over fitness and sports, specifically love ringette, lacrosse and can leg press an impressive 160 pounds. They also spend a lot of time reading, listening to music and to true crime podcasts. They are an amazing moral support and we all adore them.

Alisha is a kind and caring person. She always takes the time to make sure their friends are feeling like their best selves. They are very friendly and greet everyone they meet. They never miss the opportunity to hand out compliments. Alisha is hardworking and when there is a task presented, she always dives into it headlong. She is on the school badminton team and outside of school, she takes dance classes. Their skill to focus on a task makes them an important part of the social justice club and we are so glad that they are here.

Zoe is a very social person. She takes the time to greet every person she passes on the streets. She is loud and is never afraid to speak her mind, because of this she is a great talker and can hold a conversation very well. She is smart and does well in school. Zoe is caring and stupidly competitive. She uses her height to her advantage by playing basketball. When not in school or on the court, she is playing the violin. And she uses this skill to earn a little cash by busking. All in all Zoe Lewis is an essential part of this project and we are all glad to have her.

Oban is one of the most outgoing people in the group and never fails to make us smile. Even though she’s constantly busy trying to balance dance, martial arts, and volleyball she still has time for school and friends. She loves the outdoors so she goes on walks and hikes any time she can. She has a very creative mind, she constantly writes stories and poetry, and she also enjoys drawing. Oban is great with kids and teaches martial arts to her small students. Overall she is the loud motivation our group loves.

Aarav is a kind- hearted, hardworking individual. He has been very involved with our painting and helps our resident artist, Spider, with the planning involved with the picture behind the painting. Outside of the Social Justice Club he enjoys music and was in our school Jazz Band!

Noah enjoys a good pair of headphones and a nice rock song, his favorite music being a mix of The Black Keys, Iron Maiden, and The Tragically Hip. With a slight coffee addiction and a plethora of strange random facts, he is a very fun person to be around.

Kiyah is a very active person not only in sports but also active in this project. she enjoys track and field, school (surprisingly), the great outdoors, and helping people out. Kiyah isn't necessarily the most outgoing person, but she makes up for it by being one of the kindest people you will ever meet.
