Step Up Task 1: Model a Dog House in SketchUp for School
This task aims at introducing you to the basic knowledge of 3D model making. 3D model making is a necessary skill for Architecture, and it will help you visualise whatever you have in mind into reality. SketchUp files (in whatever sizes) can be exported for 3D printing and Laser cutting.

Step Up Task 2:Design Your Own Cabin
Open Up the tutorial circled in red, this cabin used a similar structure comparing to the dog house, but this time, it is a building that people interact. For our course next year, you will be asked to design a residential house for a client, so treat this as a preview to some architectural conventions.
Follow the tutorial and create the cabin just like Task 1.
Step Up Task 3: Decorate Katherine Johnson's Balcony
Please download this Sketch Up for School document to complete this task: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11xc7_rZfOODtpxjb3kyoOoQrg4k7elVF/view?usp=sharing
Your task is to decorate Katherine Johnson's newly bought balcony (space dimension: 4500mm*3000mm*3500mm), using learnt commands from Task 1 and two new ones: 3D Warehouse and Materiality.
Upon opening the blank balcony template, please head to the panel on the right and look for the 3D Warehouse Icon.
Proceed to type any keywords for furniture or decoration ideas. Make sure to select "Models" from the filter, then hit the download button to import any desired models to the balcony space.
Click anywhere to place the imported furniture models, then use the Move tool to move the furniture to the desired space.
You may also use the rotate tool to rotate the furniture around, if they are not in a desirable position.
Or adjust the size of geometries.
Please decorate as much furniture as possible, once you are ready, you may double-click on the Wall Geometry group to apply materiality on the wall and the floor. Please note: you are not in the geometry if you didn't see the black doted line surrounding the balcony (as indicated below).
Select a wall face or floor face, go to the Entity panel on the right (Top right button), and change the default materiality. Please note: sometimes (Sketch Up for School can be glitchy), the face is back facing towards us, so you will need to try out which face will give you the effect.
You may search through the library to find more option:
