We have been learning so many strategies to help us solve addition problems! Some strategies you might like to use to solve the worded problems in the homework this week could be:

• Make it to ten, and then add the rest

• Add up the place value parts (ones, tens, hundreds)

• Using your knowledge of doubles or near doubles

• Using a number line, or an open number line

• Drawing MAB to help you rename numbers

• Recording the problem as a vertical addition (you can teach your parents why we don’t say to “carry the 1”, and why we say “rename” or “regroup” instead!)
