About the film
Inkheart is a fantasy adventure film starring Brendan Fraser as the character Mo Folchart, a father with a magical ability. When he reads certain books aloud, the characters can come to life. When a dangerous villain from a story escapes into the real world, Mo, his daughter Meggie, and a group of unlikely allies are drawn into an adventure that blurs the line between fiction and reality.
As they try to put things right, they encounter magical creatures, living storybook characters and the power of imagination itself. Based on the novel by Cornelia Funke, Inkheart is a family-friendly tale about books, storytelling, courage and the bond between parents and children.
Characters
Brendan Fraser as Mo Folchart: A loving father with a special ability to bring characters from books into the real world by reading aloud.
Meggie Folchart as Mo’s daughter: She is intelligent, curious and shares her father’s love of reading.
Dustfinger: A mysterious fire performer who comes from a storybook. He is clever but struggles with where he truly belongs.
Capricorn: The main villain. He is powerful, ruthless and wants to use magical abilities for his own gain.
Elinor Loredan: Meggie’s great-aunt. She loves books. Although she can be stubborn, she cares deeply about her family.
Fenoglio: The author of the Inkheart book within the story. He is fascinated by the effects his writing has on the real world.
Resa Folchart: Meggie’s mother. She is an important part of the family’s story and motivates many of Mo’s actions.
